Nordiq Canada Ski Nationals 2025: A Must-See Event in Canmore ⛷️
The Canmore Nordic Centre is set to host one of the most prestigious events in Canadian cross-country skiing - the 97th Nordiq Canada Ski Nationals - from March 17 to 23, 2025. This thrilling competition will welcome over 800 athletes from across the country, including elite, junior, and para-nordic skiers, all vying for national titles. 🏅
A Celebration of Skiing Excellence 🎿
The Nordiq Canada Ski Nationals is the pinnacle of Canada’s cross-country skiing calendar, featuring a variety of race formats and distances. As an FIS-sanctioned event, it serves as the ultimate test for athletes at the end of the ski season. This year’s championships also include:
Canadian College and University National Championships (CCUNC): Showcasing the top student-athletes in the sport.
Canadian Para Nordic Championships: Providing a platform for para-nordic athletes to compete at the highest level.
Race Formats and Competition Schedule 🏁
The week-long event will feature a mix of race formats, including:
Sprint races - High-speed, short-distance competitions.
Distance races - Longer courses testing endurance and technique.
Team events - Exciting relays and mass-start races that highlight strategy and teamwork.

An Iconic Venue: Canmore Nordic Centre 🏔️
Originally built for the 1988 Winter Olympics, the Canmore Nordic Centre remains a premier destination for competitive skiing. Nestled in the stunning Canadian Rockies, it boasts over 65 km of world-class trails designed for both athletes and spectators to enjoy. More venue details can be found at Alberta Parks.
Spectator and Travel Information 🚗
Fans are encouraged to attend and experience the action up close. The venue provides excellent viewing areas along the course, and entry is free. However, parking may be limited during peak hours. For visitor information, check out Explore Canmore.
