Canmore Highland Games: August 30th-31st, 2025

If this week’s snow has you reaching for your third cup of tea and dreaming of summer, here’s something to warm your spirit: the Canmore Highland Games will return to Canmore this summer for Labour Day weekend.

This annual tradition brings the heart of Scottish culture to the Rockies with piping, dancing, caber tossing, and, of course, plenty of kilts. Whether you’ve got Celtic roots or just love the atmosphere, it’s one of Canmore’s biggest weekends of the year.

As usual, we can expect a packed schedule featuring athletic competitions, highland dancing, a traditional Scottish heavy sports demo, and the ever-popular beer garden and whisky-tasting tent.

There’ll be family-friendly fun during the day, and once the sun sets, the ceilidh (a Scottish dance party) keeps the energy going well into the night.

So, while we’re still digging out our driveways, hang in there. Before we know it, summer will be here, the bagpipes will be playing, and the games will be in full swing. More here.
