Hey Canmore! Here's What’s Happening This Week!
It's a dramatic week in the Bow Valley. Smoky skies from distant wildfires are drifting into Canmore, prompting air quality alerts and prompting many to seek clean-air spaces, such as Elevation Place and the Rec Centre. While there's no immediate threat, conditions remain dry, and a fire ban is now in effect across Kananaskis.
Planning to fly? Take note: the G7 Summit is bringing security-related delays and road closures around Calgary Airport from June 15 to 18. Tunnel closures and no-parking zones could disrupt travel, so check your route ahead of time.
And if you're heading out on the trails, be alert - after a close call with a grizzly at Johnston Canyon, local officials are urging everyone to carry bear spray and stay aware.
